Do I need a corporation?
by JJ Childers

This week's Monday Morning Mentor Minute

Hi everyone, this is JJ Childers.  In my travels throughout the country as an attorney, speaker and author, I have found that the legal entity that most people are familiar with and have questions about is the corporation.  And the single most often asked question I am asked is, “Do I need a corporation?”

The bottom line is that no one can do a better job of determining whether it’s time for you to establish your corporation than you can.  But here are some questions to ask yourself, and answer them honestly.

  1. Would you be interested in maintaining flexibility in the management and control of your own business?
  2. Would you like to implement a plan whereby you could protect your assets?
  3. Are you interested in maintaining privacy over your finances?
  4. Do you want to lower your overall tax obligation?
  5. Is preserving your estate for your heirs important to you?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then a corporation could be the right tool to add to your personal financial system toolbox.

I would like to learn more about Asset Protection Strategies and Tax Tips.
